Whole class instrumental tuition can support your pupils’ learning in music and beyond, and inspire a love of music for their lives and futures. Your pupils – and teachers – will achieve more in the music element of the curriculum, progress faster, and become even more motivated and enthusiastic.
We offer weekly whole class instrumental tuition programmes lasting a year, and for Key Stage 2 pupils; this is subsidised by 50% from our music education hub grant.
MUSICAL AWAKENINGS is a one year course for Foundation Stage, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The children will learn basic musical skills through singing and playing percussion and recorder. We can plan around school topics – please contact us for further details.
FIRST ACCESS (formerly Wider Opportunities) is a whole class teaching initiative for Key Stage 2. Pupils learn music through a wide range of instruments including Strings, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Ukulele and Guitar, in 45-minute weekly sessions. An experienced instrumental teacher visits the school and works, with the class teacher, to deliver a fun-packed programme of instrumental work, musical games and singing. After the initial experience, some children may want to continue learning in smaller groups.
PROGRESSION TO EXCELLENCE is a one-year course of whole class instrumental teaching, which can follow on from First Access or you can choose to change the instrumental focus. Lessons can be 30 minutes or 45 minutes long.
